Every summer there are free concerts called "Live on the Levy" and the concerts are down by the river. The 3rd and 4th of July following the concerts are fireworks. So I did my concert poster featuring Sammy Hagar. I used a picture of Sammy, and pictures that I had of fireworks on the river. I learned a lot from this project, it helped me understand the mask technique. I enjoyed putting this project together because it was fun, but I also used a lot of skills that I will need in the future.Colleen Studenthttp://www.blogger.com/profile/09134826465992633842noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-179710730389216888.post-68974795167197095142009-10-05T06:06:00.000-07:002009-10-05T06:15:07.859-07:00Photo Alternative RepresentationAfter I came up with a graphic I wanted to use (a music note) I started brain storming ideas of how i could reproduce the image. Somethings i did were simple, and others required a bit more time and thinking. I really enjoyed this project, I thought a lot about what i could use that ties into music such as the head phones i used. I also used music notes to make a music note. I liked the music note that I made with the scrabble pieces. It was different and stood out from the rest. Overall this was a different experience for me and I really enjoyed it.Colleen Studenthttp://www.blogger.com/profile/09134826465992633842noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-179710730389216888.post-50915917057259065122009-09-27T20:47:00.001-07:002009-09-27T20:47:43.762-07:00Alternative Representation. This is the link to view my alternative representation photos.

http://picasaweb.google.com/colleenstudentdesign/PhotoAlternativeRepresentation?feat=directlink

Colleen Studenthttp://www.blogger.com/profile/09134826465992633842noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-179710730389216888.post-46552607162334489822009-09-04T10:09:00.000-07:002009-09-04T10:11:14.418-07:00Logo DesignAfter making lists of things on my mind, TONS of words to describe one thing. Then I drew things that exemplified these words and doodled like crazy. Then i put 2 things together and simplified it down. I really enjoyed this project.Colleen Studenthttp://www.blogger.com/profile/09134826465992633842noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-179710730389216888.post-91651443895250953612009-08-30T10:04:00.000-07:002009-08-30T10:20:40.422-07:00GeStaltGestalt Psychology is that the whole is greater than the sum of it's parts. In design I feel like this means to look at the big picture rather than just a part of it, to get the idea of what it means and fully understand it.Colleen Studenthttp://www.blogger.com/profile/09134826465992633842noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-179710730389216888.post-53286278321716349832009-08-25T18:41:00.000-07:002009-08-25T18:57:32.225-07:00I am a Graphic Arts Technology Management major;

Fall 2008
Grap 1010 Fundmentals of Printing Processes & Lab
Grap 1000 Orientation to Graphic Arts

Spring 2009
Grap 2030 Digital Prepress and Print Applications
Grap 2031 Digital Image Processing
Grap 2032 Imaging Technology

Fall 2009
Grap3034 Offset Press Technology & Lab
Art 2610 Intro to Graphic Design & Illustration

Spring 2010
Grap 3034 Flexography Technology & Lab
Grap3034 Binding Finishing & Distribution
Grap 2610 Principles of Multimedia

Fall 2010
Grap 3057 Graphic Arts Quality Assurance
Grap3051 Graphic Arts Management
Graph 2620 Multimedia Applications

Spring 2011
Art 3610 Typography
Grap 2670 Multimedia Animation
Grap 3045 Substrates & Inks

Fall 2011
Grap 4095 Senior Seminar in Graphic Arts
Art 3620 Logo/Trademark Design
Art 3630 Design for Advertising

Spring 2012
Grap 4053 Graphic Arts Production Analysis
Grap 4055 Printing, Estimating, & Costing
Grap 4038 Color ScienceColleen Studenthttp://www.blogger.com/profile/09134826465992633842noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-179710730389216888.post-69964317997046908202009-08-23T19:32:00.000-07:002009-08-23T19:44:17.122-07:00 "Semiotics" sounded to me like something technical, like a word an engineer would use. But really it is a lot easier to understand. Semiotics is the study of signs and the production of meaning. Which is very important in designing anything so you are sure you get across the point you are trying to make. You must be careful so it is easy to read and understand. The vocabulary tied into semiotics is a bit overwhelming when just looking at the words but after reading over the sheet i was a bit more calm. The pictures on the handout made it easier to understand, as well as the examples said in class. "The man is a denote, while the connotes there is a men's restroom around." I hope to get a better understand of all the vocabulary through this class.Colleen Studenthttp://www.blogger.com/profile/09134826465992633842noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-179710730389216888.post-59599021581674076922009-08-19T07:16:00.000-07:002009-08-19T07:23:09.600-07:00Test Post
This is a test post.Colleen Studenthttp://www.blogger.com/profile/09134826465992633842noreply@blogger.com0
